RETREAT

The academic year begins each September with a college retreat on the shores of Lac MacDonald in the beautiful Laurentian Mountains. The retreat is an opportunity to get to know other members of the college community and reflect on our common life and calling as Christians in the world. In past years, the retreat has focused on the special charism of rural ministry and other topics. In 2018, the retreat centred on discussion of James K.A. Smith’s You Are What You Love: The Spiritual Power of Habit, as a way of framing a larger conversation about worship and our witness as Christians in the world.

There is also plenty of time for swimming, socializing, exploring, and singing with our friends in the Montreal School of Theology. Attendance at the retreat is expected of all Master of Divinity, Diploma in Ministry, and Master of Sacred Theology students. Students in other degree programs are warmly invited to attend as well.
