Governance – Statement of Identity and Purpose

The college is overseen by a Board of Governors, representing Anglican, United Church, and other traditions, who are responsible for its strategic direction and governance. It is guided by a statement of identity and purpose, which shapes its most recent strategic plan, adopted in 2025.

Statement of Identity and Purpose

Montreal Dio is an ecumenical and bilingual learning community that educates and forms compassionate, courageous, and creative leaders for Christian witness in a rapidly changing world.

Theological Guideposts

1. Rooted in resurrection hope, we believe that God is present in our midst as we build on the foundations of those who came before us and follow a God who is constantly doing a new thing.

2. Abiding in the Triune God, we affirm the centrality of loving relationships through Christ and with one another as the bedrock of our work.

3. Recognizing that God’s word is edifying and life-giving, we engage in our work with prayer, imagination, and courage as we look for ways to proclaim that word afresh.

4. With gratitude and thanksgiving, we recognize that we are stewards, not owners of the gifts we have been given.
